Crochet Portable Yarn Dispenser
Perhaps every yarn crafters dream is to have their own yarn dispenser.
From productivity and ease, there are a lot of benefits of one especially if you always work with yarn.
I have seen countless types of yarn dispensers on online stores nowadays.
However, I thought it would be much more creative if I made my own yarn dispenser.
First, I could customize it to fit my needs. I work with different types and colors of yarn in my projects.
Some yarn dispensers that are available doesn’t really cater to frequent yarn changing.
Before the pandemic, it is also my habit to crochet on public transport. Traffic is terrible here so I thought it could be a good use of time.
However, most yarn dispensers that are available are not really portable. They are a hassle to carry around.
So after a long time of thinking and conceptualizing, I finally decided to create my personalized, crocheted yarn dispenser
There are a lot of features that I put in in creating this yarn dispenser.
As you can see, there is a long chain of yarn that is connected to it. It is exactly at a comfortable length so it would fall near my waist.
That way, I could easily crochet while sitting or even standing without it being on the way.
Next, I attached a flap cover. That space from the flap cover to the area where the yarn is dispensed would be enough to fit in a small to medium sized crocheted project that I am currently working on.
This would allow easy putting away the project when I have to immediately do something else.
The next features relate to the inside. It is big enough to fit 2 big balls of indophil yarn, or 2-3, or even 4 medium sized balls of yarn.
I also attached a zipper so I could easily change yarn if needed.
The tools and accessories however, should be put in a separate case or bag that could also be held in the dispenser.
As the pandemic forces us to stay home, I can’t really use this much while travelling. but I am ready whenever.
Also, it would be a great way to organize yarns I would use in my projects!
