Plant Hangers!
Hi everyone!
Gardening is one of the hobbies I have obtained due to this pandemic.
I mean, I was stucked at home with nothing to do, it was hard to get groceries and stuff.
So I thought, what if, I get my groceries from my own garden!
I grew a lot of different stuff: papaya, Kalabasa (squash), Ampalaya (bittermelon), mung beans, etc.
Usually, I planted seeds from the scraps from cooking but this time, I really opted to buy seeds from the supermarket.
I bought two packs of seeds. One is Pakchoi, and the other one is Basil! Basil is a great herb and my mom uses it in pasta and it tastes really amazing.
So I planted them in bowls that we no longer use and then I realized, I don’t really have a place for them in my garden anymore.
Then an idea strucked me: plant hangers!
Plant hangers are ideal for vertical planting. I thought of buying macrame cords but I already spent quite a lot on New Year’s Day so I decided not to.
Instead, I used an old indophil yarn that has been unused for quite a long time.
However to make it stronger, I made it double pull
Then I used the biggest crochet hook I had.
So my materials are only as follows:
- Indophil Yarn
- 6.5mm crochet hook
- scissors
I didn’t really use a pattern for this project and just used ‘tantya’-meter for it’s size.
There were two pots so I hang them vertically. This way, water that is drained from the top pot can go to the lower pot.
Here are some pictures:
These are pretty cool right? I can’t wait for these newly planted seed to sprout!
