Nezuko Bamboo Muzzle
The anime fever is upon me!! I had made another anime inspired creation!
And guess what– It came from the same anime; Kimetsu No Yaiba!
This time I made something that is really symbolical in the anime. It is Nezuko’s Bamboo Muzzle.
Since Nezuko is a demon, she uses a bamboo shaped muzzle to repress herself from trying to attack and harm others. The item is quite iconic.
I had made a replica of the same muzzle but out of yarn!!!
Here are the materials I used in making this replication project
- Green Indophil Yarn
- Red Acrylic Yarn
- Tapestry Needle
- 3.5mm crochet hook
- Seam Ripper
- Filling (I used yarn trimmings
It was fairly easy to make. I started with a magic ring and 8 double crochets then doubled the amount of double crochets on the next layer. So 16dcs then worked on the body of the bamboo
The grooves on the bamboo were easy to make I just used back post double crochets all around and it made a wonderful embossed line pattern on the bamboo.
The hard part was closing it up. I did the reverse of what I did in the beginning.
When I finally managed to close the other end, I realized something; I forgot to put filling before closing the body!!!!
It just looks so wonky and I was not sure I could close it up properly for the second time so I just did what I think I could.
I inserted the fillings through the side little by little. It was hard because I can’t control where the filling is going. I can’t also see if the amount I put in is already enough or of I need more.
I just did what I could and when it felt right, I worked on putting the red tie that is used to tie around the head so it wouldn’t fall from Nezuko’s mouth..
It was just a chain of red acrylic yarn I attached it using the tapestry needle.
After that, the bamboo muzzle is complete!
