Hooks

If you are starting investing in a good set of hooks is a must! Those hook will be your best friends for the rest of your life!

You should make sure to order crochet hooks that will last and probably something that you can pass down to your child!

Hooks vary from metal, plastic, clay, or wooden. Personally, I prefer metal hooks with clay handles, because they are good for crocheting in long periods of time

Yarn

You’ve got your hooks, now you need something to crochet. Colors will be dependent on which project you like to take.

But if you are still starting, you may be undecided on what you want to be your first project.

You will never go wrong with skin toned colored yarn. You have a lot of uses for it, from shawls, amigurumis, or even if you start small, like a hat. This is the yarn that always run out of too!

Another yarn purchase that will be useful no matter what your project is black colored yarn. It has a lot of uses and it is cool in a lot of projects.

And of course, white colored yarn is also a good purchase. It has a lot of uses and you may be inspired with another color, you can just dye it!

Other accessories

You are already all set if you have yarn and hooks. But it would also do you convenience if you have the following materials.

Stitch markers are very helpful tools for crocheters. There are a lot of counting involved in crocheting. Stitch markers lessens this burden by almost half.

Of course, there are also an easier alternative to this. stitch counter. I have one and it really change my crochet counting habits. It takes time to get used to it. but its worth it.

A good thread scissors are also a good investment. It lets you cut yarn or thread with precision.

Tapestry needles are also helpful as it will help in hiding those trailing yarns at the end or beginning of your project.
