A Quick Guide on Where to Get Yarn in the Philippines

YARN YARN YARN!!!

They say that yarn collecting is a hobby completely different from crocheting or knitting

And I totally agree!!!!

How many times have I bought yarn just because, it’s so pretty!

I have told myself countleses times that, “I don’t know what I’m going to do with it yet, but I bought it because the color is cute!

If you are from the US, Amazon might be a way to go. In fact, here are good selections of yarn you can buy on Amazon

But if you are based in the Philippines like me, it will be hard to find a good selection of yarn for a good price.

This post is a compilation of where to find good quality yarn in the Metro!

  1. Tabora Street, Divisoria, Manila

If you are a crafter, whether a crocheter, a knitter, or any other craft you are interested, Tabora Street is a heaven for you!

I personally haven’t been there. I was planning for ages but then this pandemic happened and now, it seems more impossible.

But, the reviews for this place is very good!

Even in pictures, I almost drooled at the stores after stores after stores that sell yarn and all other craft items.

More than that, it is also the cheapest option among this list. Bargaining is common and comparing prices from different stores is possible

But the downside for this is that it is one of the most hassle places to shop. For me, it was far so the cheap price is almost the same as the ones near me minus the hassle.

But if you live near the area or dropping by to buy some other stuff, or if you like to buy in bulk then this place is for you!

2. Lacion General Merchandise

On to our next option, Lacion General Merchandising or most commonly known as ‘Tindahan ni Mang Miner’ .

This shop is so accommodating and has a variety of selection! Mang Miner, the shop owner is very friendly and is happy to assist me every time I go there

I frequent this shop because it is the one nearest to me in this list. I used to go there whenever I am on my way to school or home.

The store is located in Rosario, Pasig City, right below the Rosario Bridge. If you are from the east, then this is the shop I recommend to you the most!

They have a lot of color variants and good prices too!

Indophil yarn are the most common item in this shop, but, there are also other types of yarn like the feather yarn!

There are also crochet hooks, and toys that this shop sells.

3. Craft Central, SM Megamall or SM North Edsa

The SM Megamall Branch is located at 5th level, Mega Fashion Hall, across Mega Food Hall while the SM North Edsa Branch is at Greenbelt 5 3rd level, across Mothercare, near Toys R’ Us

This is something I wouldn’t recommend for those who are tight on the budget.

Most items on this shop is pricey. Nevertheless, you can assure good quality items and yarn.

I have bought several items from this store, just because the quality of yarn is just so good for me to resist.

Filling up every corner with curiosities 🥳 Give us a wink if you know what branch this is! 😉

If you are looking for cheap, then don’t even dare to step in this store because, you would not be able to resist the calling of the yarns.

They also sell a lot of crafting items other than crocheting. I have been tempted to buy supplies for Macrame just cause I want to try.

4. Gantsilyo Guru Selections

Next on our list is this shop that I have been wanting to visit ever since I have heard about it!

It’s just that I am a person who easily gets lost.

This shop is located along Shaw Blvd. and the pictures I see online is really good, I think, I’ll have a shopping spree when I go there!

The reviews for this place is also super good. I hope someday I can go visit.

Before midnight tonight, you still have a chance to avail of our sale of Dapper Dreamer Tees 😊 10% off until 11:59PM!

5. DMC, SM Megamall

Last on this list is DMC. This shop is more focused on selling DMC threads and cross-stitching supplies.

But, they also have good yarn selections! and also good supplies! I have bought acrylic yarn in this shop a few times

They also have supplies for other crafts. but, this is also on the pricier side.

Nevertheless, quality is never compromised in this shop.

It is located on Lower Ground Floor, Megamall, Bldg. A.

Sadly, most physical yarn stores have been closed due to the pandemic. I can’t wait to go out again and buy yarn.

What do you think? Have you been to any of these stores? Which is your favorite?
