7 things you should know before you date a crocheter

Crocheting is a wonderful hobby and many people find crocheters as good partners in a quiet and comfortable life. But before you ask her out, there are some things you need to know. I’ve compiled them with the help of my friends in Crochet Addict Philippines

1. They are very patient. Crocheting is something that requires a lot of counting and techniques that sometimes can’t be done in one time. You might see her count over and over again or try over and over again until she gets the right count or technique. In dates, they come very early than the expected time but are very patient in waiting for the right time. But always remember that her being patient is not an excuse to be late.

2. Never interrupt a crocheter that is counting. This is something that you should never, ever do. Especially if she is working in a big project. You would definitely face her wrath no matter how sweet she is. Countings are things that you should never interrupt

3. They would rather have a yarn boquet than a boquet of flowers. At times other people wonder if crocheters eat yarn or thread. This is because they use a lot of yarns. They love choosing yarns while thinking what she would do with it. And receiving a yarn boquet would definitely make her heart flutter more than flowers.

4. They give the most memorable gifts. Every crocheter loves to make something for their loved ones. Something that he could wear or take wherever he goes. Something that when you see, will remind you of them. I think this is one of their best traits. They personalize gifts in a way that will keep you warm–physically and emotionally.

5. They look quiet but they are actually talkative once you knew them. Crocheters have their own thoughts while they crochet. (Other than counting of course.) Your goal is to make them talk because when they talk, that means they are comfortable with you.

6. Familiarize yourself with the terms in crocheting. If you really end up dating a crocheter, there will be a time that she will ask for a favor to buy some yarn or thread that they forgot to buy. So you better familiarize yourself. (e.g. Yarn Cakes)

7. They need a lot of space. If you date a crocheter you should always give her crocheting time at least 4 (AND DEFINITELY MORE) hours a day. You shouldn’t be angry if they are busy with crocheting and don’t have time for you because, Priorities.

So I guess that’s it. If you want to add more, just comment it and I’ll gladly do so.
